Ayuveda is a holistic system of health that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Ayurvedic medicine believes in the concept of body type, of which there are three distinct body types that exist in human nature-Vata-Pitta-Kapha. Ayurveda believes that each individual is born with a specific body type that influences all aspects of life.
What is Vata?
Vata body-types are typically tall or short, with a thin body frame and a slender, under-developed physique. They have an abundance of the air and space elements in their constitution and naturally possess physical qualities that are cold, dry, light and active. To achieve balance, Vata body-types require specific foods and botanicals that possess the opposite qualities warm, oily, nourishing and calming. Internal balance is the foundation for whole-body health.
All-in-One Vata-Balancing Formula
The herbs in this formula are traditionally used to promote balance in Vata body-types. This formula can be used year-round by individuals with a Vata constitution. It can also be used by any body-type during the fall and early winter months, or by individuals that may be experiencing temporary symptoms of Vata imbalance (including cold hands and feet, indigestion, nervousness, dry skin, crackling joints, etc).
