Black tea is made from tea leaves mora heavily oxidized than other tea varieties. It is during the production process that the membranes of tea leaves are broken to allow the juices and essential oils to emerge, giving black teas their characteristic aromas and flavours. The dried flavourful juices on the surfaces of the leaves remain relatively stable until exposed to boiling water during infusion.
In the East, black tea is know asred tea, which refers more accuratley to the colr of the brewed leaves. It also preserves its flavour longer, making it a favorite article of trade. Compressed bricks of black tea even served as a form of currency in Mongolia, Tibet and Siberia into the 19th century. Black teas still account for over ninety percent of all tea sold in the west.

Ingredients: 100% Organic decaffeinated black tea (camellia sinensis)
Tasting Notes:
This is a caffeine reduced medium-bodied black tea with sweet, smooth fruity notes. Mild and low in tannins, this tea taste so good you won't be able to tell it has been decaffeinated using the CO2 pure water process. Enjoy it hot any time of the day with a little milk and sugar to bring out the tea's delicate sweetness. For a change, this tea is also great served with lemon or as iced tea for hot summer days.
Directions:
-Good water is an essential part of brewing a great cup of tea. We recommend using spring or filtered water.
-Be sure to relax! Some of the most enjoyable aspects of tea are the calmness and ritual that surround it.
-This is a delicate herb and is more potent when exposed to high temperatures for a short period of time. So that your tea has its maximum medicinal properties and flavour, be sure that your water is at a rolling boil when you pour it over your teabags.
-If you desire a medicinal tea, be sure to use one tea bag per cup of boiling water, cover and steep for 7-12 minutes. This is know as the infusion method.
-If you desire a pleasure tea or qiuck brew, use one teabag per cup of hot water. Pour water over teabags, cover, and let steep 3 to 5 minutes to taste.
