Discovered by Russian Scientists, Adaptogens are specific plant extracts that control excess Cortisol levels during times of stress. Cortisol in excess amounts is highly toxic, attacks muscle mass and organs, lengthens recovery time, and diminishes strength as well as the immune system.
Adaptogens are designed to help:
- Lower Cortisol Levels During Times Of Stress
- Boost Your Immune System
- Increase Your Energy Levels
- Lower Stress Levels
- Improve Focus & Concentration
To be considered an adaptogen, plant extracts had to meet three key criteria. First, they had to be totally non-toxic to human cells. Second, they had to support cells at a healthy state. And lastly, they had to help the body adapt to stress.
How Were These Extracts Discovered?
During the mid 1950's, the Soviet government chartered their Academy of Sciences with the task of developing a product that would enhance the performance of their elite (i.e. Olympic athletes, Bolshoi Ballet, World Class Chess Players and Cosmonauts). They put 1,200 scientists on the task and they conducted over 3,000 studies with 500,000 people. Their research went on for 45 years!
The scientists decoded thousands of plants and found 10 rare plants in a far eastern Russian area called the Primorye. These plants provided the basis for achieving the three objectives as well as control the production of Cortisol during times of stress. They coined the word ADAPTOGEN for the plants that demonstrated those properties.
How Is Cortisol Produced?
Stress. Stress triggers the adrenal gland to secrete the hormone Cortisol as a response to any kind of physical or psychological stress. Since stress is a daily part of our lives, and for the most part unavoidable, we all have cortisol in our systems.
How Is Adapt Taken?
Adapt is a pure liquid extract that comes in a 60 mL bottle and lasts approximately one month. Adapt is taken by placing two droppers-full under the tongue, holding for 30 seconds and swallowing. This method assures quick and thorough absorption.
How Long Does It Take To Start Working?
Since Adapt is an extract in liquid form, it is absorbed sublingually and through the gut, so most people feel some effect within 10-15 minutes.
