Summary of Modern Studies on Wenyang Yishen (Super Manhood™) Capsule

Chinese Use: Male hypogonadia, impotence, premature ejaculation, sterility.

This recipe is applied in impotence, emission, premature ejaculation which should be treated with benefiting the kidney, reinforcing yang, replenishing spirit and consolidate the genuineness.

In the recipe, Herba Cynomorii, Cornu Cerri pantotricum are sweet-warm, the latter being sweet-warm-salty, all pertain to the kidney channel, capable of reinforcing kidney yang, benefiting the essence and blood, serving as the monarchal ingredients. Radix Morandae officinals, Actinolitum, Herba Cistanchis, Cortex Cinnammomi are all sweet-warm-salty, pungent-heat, and pertain to the kidney channel. They strengthen the action of the monarchial, serving as ministerial ingredients. Fructus Cnidii is pungent-bitter-puckery, Semen Allii tuberosi, Semen Cuscutae, Cortex Eucommiae, Fructus Soralae, Herba Epidemii are all sweet-warm, pertain to the liver-kidney channels, capable of benefiting the liver-kidney, reinforcing yang, strengthening tendon and bone, consolidating the semen, when concerted with animal drugs such as Peni et Testes Callorhini, Peni Boris which are capable of warming the kidney to reinforce yang, benefiting semen, consolidating the marrow, they further strengthen the action of monarchal and ministerial ingredients. Radix Ginseng rubra, Radix Codopnosis pilosulae, Radix Astragali seu Hedysari, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Radix Rehmanniae preparata, Radix Angelica sinensis are all sweet-plain-warm. They strengthen the actions of benefiting qi-blood, replenishing kidney-yin, which signifying seeking yang from yin, so they also strengthen the spleen to function normally. Fructus Corni, Fructus Rubi, Fructus Rosae laevigatae, Stamen Nelumbinis are all sour-puckery, sweet-plain-warm, pertain to the kidney channel, capable of consolidating semen and benefiting the kidney, astringing semen, further consolidate the above-mentioned actions. Fructus Schisandrae is sweet-warm-sour, pertains to the kidney channel, capable of replenishing the kidney to astringe semen. Fructus Foeniculi is pungent-warm, pertains to the liver-kidney-spleen channels. When concerted with Pericarpium Zanthoxyli, it strengthens the action of warming the kidney and liver and disperses cold. Rhizoma Alismatis, Poria are all plain and facilitating diuresis. They not only assist Rhizoma Dioscorea to nourish yang and qi and the spleen function, but also yield reducing action amid benefiting. When pathogens are driven out, benefiting can function better. They all prevent the greasy nature of all benefiting ingredient. Radix Polygalae acts to communicate the heart with kidney. All the above are adjuvant ingredients. Radix Glycyrrhiza is sweet-plain, when used with Radix Codonopsis pilosulae, Radix Ginseng rubra, Radix Astragali seu Hedysari, they further reinforce the benefiting action, and regulate and harmonize all ingredients, and are used as servant ingredients. The whole recipe yields benefiting the kidney, reinforcing yang, replenishing semen and consolidating the genuineness.

Clinically, this product was applied in male sexual disturbance, hyperlipidemia, primary thrombocytopenic purpura.

1. Male sexual disturbance: 100 cases were treated at the Kunming Citu hospital of TCM. 65 cases manifested impotence, hyposexuality, premature ejaculation; 35 cases, abnormal seminal fluid, sterility were administered with 3 months as a therapeutic course, other cases, 1 month as a course. After 1~2 courses of treatment, in the former group, 13 cases were cured; 23, markedly effective; 5, ineffective, the total effective rate being 90.8%. In the latter group of 35 cases, 9 cases were cured; 10, markedly effective; 5, ineffective, the cured rate being 25.7%, effective rate being 88%. It was reported that this product ameliorated male sexual ability, mainly manifesting shortening of erection time of penis, strengthening of sexual desire, prolonging erection duration, prolonging the tolerance of penis after engaging, thus elevating the quality of sexual intercourse. It also increases the density of sperm, and its motility, thus, increases the successful rate of fertility.

2. Hyperlipidemia: 181 cases with age above 40 were co-treated by Hunan Hospital for Elderly and Beihai People’s Hospital of Guangxi. The control group was treated with a new western drug Feinobeit, including 131 cases and 50 cases respectively. After 1 course of treatment, the effective rate of Suoyang group was 65.3%, and the effective rate 62.5%. For that of the hyper-triglycerinemia were 64.6%, and 43.1% respectively. That for the Feinobeit group were 50% and 81.3% respectively, markedly effective rate being 68.8%. It was proved that both groups revealed similar results.

3. Primary thrombocytopenic purpura: 211 cases were treated at Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of TCM. Among them 158 were treated with 1 month as a therapeutic course. After 1~3 courses in the Suoyang group, 58 cases (36.7%) were markedly effective; 50 (31.6%), effective; 37 (23.4%), ameliorated; 13 (8.3%), ineffective, the total effective rate being 91.7%. in the aminopeptide group, the results were 7 (13.2%); 11 (20.8%), 15 (28.3%); 20 (37.7%), and 62.3% respectively, indicating that the results in the Suoyang Group was superior to that in the aminopeptide group.
