Summary of
Modern Studies on Anshen Buxin (NervEase™) Capsule
Chinese Use: Neurasthenia, neurosis, psychosis, apoplexy.
Modern studies on pharmacodynamics
reveal that this product yields the action of sedation, hypnosis,
anti-arrhythmia, and improving intelligence.
1.
Sedation and hypnosis:
This product inhibits the central nervous system. It balances the excitation
and inhibition processes of the cerebral cortex, renders the nervous activity
normal. It is found that in the dose of 0.78g/kg and 1.56g/kg, it markedly
decreases the number of movements, elevates the rate of falling asleep when
taking pentobarbital as hypnotic, prolongs the sleeping time under hypnotic
dosage, demonstrating its action of sedation, hypnosis and anti-convulsion.

Anti-arrhythmia: it
antagonizes the ventricular fibrillation in mice caused by chloroform when
administered at 1.56g/kg and antagonizes the arrhythmia caused by barium
chloride at the dosage of 1g/kg indicating that this product is capable of anti
experimental cardiac arrhythmia.

Improvement of
intelligence: this product increases the intelligence of man, elevates working
efficiency, regulates the attention and harmonizes sophisticated movements,
increases the flexibility and endurance.
Clinically, it was used in neurasthenia, neurosis, psychosis,
and apoplexy.

Neurasthenia: This
product cured the difficulty in falling asleep, decrease of memory, vertigo,
tinnitus. It is especially good for insomnia in hypertension cases.
2.
Neurosis: This product
was satisfactory for neurasthenia of deficient heart-blood type, hyper function
of ascending liver yang, ameliorated or cured insomnia, headache, dizziness,
vertigo.
3.
Psychosis and apoplexy:
This product yielded good effect for psychosis of manic or tension types.
Apoplexy with palpitation, tinnitus, dry mouth, and fidgetiness were also
indications.
